Serving Barry County, MO
Forestry Mulching, Land Clearing, Driveway, Drainage, Landscaping, Hardscaping and more.
Barry County sits directly north of Carroll and Benton counties across the Missouri line. It was organized in 1835, covers about 791 square miles, and had 34,534 residents in the 2020 Census. Cassville is the county seat, about 38 miles from our Berryville base, while Golden and Shell Knob on Table Rock Lake are only about 17 to 21 miles away. Much of the county is steep, wooded, and cut by hollows, and the land work here is farm and acreage work: land clearing, forestry mulching, fence-line clearing, and gravel farm drives that hold up in wet weather.
Barry County land, in short
A fragipan county. Scholten soils are the largest soil in Barry County's USDA survey, about one acre in six. They're cherty, with a dense fragipan layer that stops water and roots, so ground that looks dry in August can stay wet into May.
Chert and shallow rock. Clarksville and Hailey soils, the next largest, are full of chert fragments. Moko soils on the steeper slopes are shallow to limestone, and the survey maps more than 17,000 acres as rock outcrop.
Karst underneath. Like the Arkansas side of the line, Barry County sits on limestone with springs, sinkholes, and caves. Roaring River State Park, about 8 miles south of Cassville, is known for trout fishing on the spring-fed Roaring River.
National forest in the south. Roaring River's 4,294 acres sit amid a block of the Mark Twain National Forest. If you border the forest, clearing stops at your surveyed line.
Table Rock Lake on the east. Table Rock Lake reaches into the southeast part of the county near Eagle Rock, Golden, and Shell Knob. Its shoreline is Corps of Engineers land.

How we sequence the work: Clear → Access → Drain
In Barry County's hollows, getting to the site is half the job. We clear first so we can see the ground and where the wet-weather draws run. Then we open a route that a stock trailer or feed truck can use. Then we grade so water crosses the drive through a culvert or ditch instead of running down it. After that we build the pad, drive, or fence-ready line. Packages on the home page: Mulch & Open, Clear → Usable, and Clear → Driveway/Build-Ready. Every job starts with a free on-site quote.
Permits worth knowing about
Barry County doesn't work like the Arkansas counties we serve. These are the rules to know:
Barry County Planning Office: the county issues zoning permits for new houses and for accessory buildings over 200 square feet, and soil erosion permits for some projects. It charges an after-the-fact fee when work starts before a required permit, so call the Planning Office at the courthouse in Cassville before grading a building site.
Missouri DNR and Missouri 811: construction that disturbs one acre or more needs a state land disturbance permit with a stormwater plan. Missouri law requires a Missouri 811 locate request two to ten working days before digging.
Forest and lake lines: Mark Twain National Forest and Corps of Engineers shoreline are federal land. Confirm your boundary before clearing along either one.
Barry County FAQ
Do you work in Missouri?
Yes. Barry County is part of our service area, and the Table Rock Lake side is closer to Berryville than Harrison is.
Can you clean up after a timber harvest?
Yes. We mulch slash, grind stumps, grade out ruts, and leave the site ready for pasture or a homesite.
Can you clear fence lines for a new fence?
Yes. We clear fence rows wide enough for the fencing crew to set posts and run wire. We do the clearing, not the fence.
Why is my pasture wet in spring when it's dry all summer?
Scholten and similar soils have a fragipan that holds water near the surface in wet months. Swales or regrading can move it off.
How does pricing work?
Every quote is free and done on-site. Acreage, vegetation, slope, rock, drainage, and access set the price.
